Temporary Agents

Temporary Agents constitute the major human resources of eu-LISA.

Temporary agents are recruited by eu-LISA for:

  • Operational posts (Technical experts)
  • Management posts
  • Administration posts e.g. human resources, legal, finance and communication

Temporary Agents are offered a five-year contract with an initial probation period of nine months. Contracts may be renewed.

Contract Agents are recruited by eu-LISA for:

  • Supportive posts in administration (e.g. secretaries and assistants)
  • Operational and administrative posts assigned to specific projects

Contract Agents are offered contract of varying lengths (specified in our vacancy notices) with an initial probation period. Contracts may be renewed.

Seconded National Experts

Seconded National Experts (SNE`s) are staff employed by a national, regional or local public administration, or an IGO, who are seconded to the eu-LISA, so that the Agency can benefit from their high level of professional knowledge and experience.

Seconded National Experts remain in the service and receive salaries from their employers throughout the period of secondment.

The initial period of secondment is six to twenty-four months. The secondment is renewable, but the total secondment period cannot exceed four years.

Detailed rules regarding secondment of national experts within eu-LISA are described in the Management Board Decision laying down rules on the secondment of National Experts to the Agency (Decision No 2012-025 as of 28 June 2012).

eu-LISA offers paid internships for recent university graduates who are at the beginning of their professional career. Internships for university graduates are intended to enable interns to supplement their knowledge with EU policies, activities and procedures as well as those of eu-LISA.

The Agency welcomes applications from candidates with a background relating to any of the activities of the Agency.

Interns will gain:

  • EU knowledge – insight into the processes and policies of eu-LISA
  • Practical experience – an opportunity to play a part in eu-LISA's day-to-day business
  • The opportunity to put their academic theory into practice

We expect from them:

  • To be open to European matters
  • Contributions to our everyday work with fresh points of view
  • A proactive attitude
